She’s Here!

Standard

My Ani-Lee dress was waiting for me when I got home today. It is exquisitely beautiful and very much reminds me of a tutu.

However, I won’t being wearing it on my birthday! It is far toooo cold here in Indy. Tomorrow the temperature will be a whopping 1 degree, brrrr!

I must say thank you to Jen because I first saw the dress on her blog which is featured in January’s  Cosmo Australia! Way to go Jen!

After Winter…

Standard

When I saw these budding green sprouts yesterday, it made me so happy! The weather is cold, the grass brown, and the sun shines only for a fleeting moment.  Everything seems so lifeless and barren.  But seeing this lovely burst of green was a gentle reminder that God has not forgotten about me.  This is His version of “picture mail! He designed spring to follow winter for a reason. Hallelujah!

Springing forward!

Springing forward!

Snowlight

Standard

Last night I was walking through the hallway, heading to my bedroom when I noticed a soft glow in the living room.  I thought that Nicholas had left a kitchen light on so I went to turn it off.  This “light” happened to be the brillance of the snow shining in through our large picture window.  It was such a pretty, peaceful sight; like the light of an angel’s halo in the starry night sky.

Baby, It’s Cold Outside!

Standard

Sometimes winter is such a drag, especially in a state like this one. The potholes are enormous, the snow is a dirty, unsightly mess, and the temperature is colder than a polar bear’s toenails!  So this forces me to find something to appreciate about the season.  Hmmm…

  • Hot chocolate and tea
  • Warm sweaters
  • Cute boots, coats, and other winter accessories
  • The coming of spring
  • More time at home (too cold for traveling)
  • Nicholas actually enjoys playing in the snow
  • Soups, stews, and crockpot concoctions
  • Baking (helps warm the house and the soul AND it makes the house smell good!)
  • Snow days!
  • Cuddling (of course, for the body heat!)
