I just finished reading Out of Control by Steven Long which is about the Clara Harris murder case. I also bought the movie for $3.99 at Blockbuster’s. The movie, I might add, was a horrible depiction of the events that occurred.
But what surprised me the most about the case was the following article that I read about how Dr. Clara Harris received joint custody of her twin boys while incarcerated. You may read the article by visiting: http://www.glennsacks.com/convicted_murderers_can.htm
I am interested to hear your opinions.
Wow! Unbelievable! I think our family courts system is so primitive. They allow these judges, who know nothing about the child, or parents, to determine, in 5 minutes what happens. I remember when I went to court with Punkin’s dad the judge, when addressed with the issues of his anger told us point blank, “I don’t have time for this.” That was in Kansas, and I might add that even my attorney said that judge has no business on the bench. In my husband’s case…he got fair custody when we lived there, but everyone knows it’s all in her control and unless you want to fight it out in court, and who has that kind of money, the dad looses and there’s not a darn thing you can do about it! I CAN NOT believe that a woman in jail was given any kind of custody!!!!
psh. Not mention Mary Winkler….. God how i *love* our domestic relations court system……
